We have already accepted the Torah out of fear at Har Sinai. Some individuals still need this method in their personal lives. But on Purim we recieved the Torah through Ahava, not coercion. Forcing someone to do anything means we don't respect this persons Free-Choice. We know an individuals Free-Choice is his Tzelem Elokim, so trying to influence a person with fear may harm a person's connection to Hashem, (like inappropiate tochacha). The Petek is tochacha enough without a stick.
Na Nach should stay with the Ahava Van, and leave the sticks in the past. There are already enough Yidden walking around w/ sticks.NNNNM.

yasher koach well said and thanks simcha
regarding purim, i thought i learned each glass of wine on purim is tikkun habrit? anyone know the source?
:)
Here's a partial answer --
The Gemara says we have to "mitbasem" ad d'lo yada.
We have to "smell up" on Purim.
Presumably we have drink so much we smell of it.
But also Na Nach Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman makes us smell good according to LM II 8, for this is the voice of the proper rebuker Moshe/Mashiach who gives us good smell via his rebuke.
So yehi ratzon we Na Nach on Purim!
