Just posted on our hebrew site (there's a link on the right side of the blog, or go to na-nach.net) the first few paragraphs of the censored material from the holy book Chayay Moharan. If you do not know hebrew, you can try running it through google transalate, but you still will need to do some of your own deciphering.

Meshivas Nefesh #26

26.

When one begins to look at oneself, and sees that one is far from good, and one is filled with sin, then one can fall through this and not be able to pray at all. Therefore one is required to search for and seek and find some good in oneself, for it cannot be that one has not done some mitzvah or good thing at some point in one’s life. And even if when one begins to examine that good that he had done, one sees that it is filled with blemishes and has no purity, for the good is mixed with vested interests and much waste material, nonetheless it cannot be that there is not some good point in the little bit of good that he has done.

And thus one must go on and search further, until one finds in oneself some good point, and even if this good is also mixed with much waste material, nevertheless in any case it contains some good point, and thus one must search further, until one finds some other good points in oneself. And through finding some merit and good in oneself, through this one truly crosses over from the scale of guilt to the scale of merit, and one becomes able to return in repentance through this, and through this one can enliven and cheer oneself regardless of one’s situation, and then one can pray and sing and give thanks to G-d (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 282).

Meshivas Nefesh #25

25.

When one falls from one’s level, one should know that this was intended from Above, for becoming distant is for the purpose of drawing close. Therefore one fell in order to arouse his heart more to draw close to G-d. The advice for such a situation is to begin anew and enter into serving G-d as if one had never started before. And this is a great principle in the service of G-d, that one must truly start anew each day (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 261).

Meshivas Nefesh #24

24.

A person’s primary might is in his heart, for one whose heart is strong does not fear from any person or thing, and he can do awesome deeds of might and conquer heavy wars through the strength and courage of his heart, not fearing, and running into the thick of the heavy war – thus it is with the service of G-d, understand this well (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 249).

Mazel tov

Mazel tov to Ahron Z Nanach on the birth of a baby girl

Meshivas Nefesh #23

23.

One who mingles with non-Jews, because he has business dealings with them, must guard himself extremely carefully, that they not do harm to his holy Jewish being, for one can easily be caught in their net, G-d forbid, and one needs to strengthen oneself and remind oneself constantly of one’s holy Judaism, and ask G-d very much to guard one from learning from their behavior and customs (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 244).

Meshivas Nefesh #22

22.

One needs to be joyful at all times and to serve G-d in joy, and if one sometimes falls from this level, one must strengthen oneself from the earlier days, wherein the light had been shining on one a bit, and must sustain oneself now with the inspiration and illumination that one had then (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 222).

Meshivas Nefesh #21

21.

The main advice for strengthening oneself is speech, that is, even if one has fallen very deeply, nonetheless one should strengthen oneself even there, to speak words of truth, that is, words of Torah and prayer and fear of Heaven, and to speak to one’s Creator, and to speak to a friend, and all the more so, to one’s rabbi. For speech has a great power to remind a person of G-d, and to strengthen him at all times, even in places very far from holiness (Likutey Moharan, Part I, 78).

Refer to Likutey Aitzot, Chapter on Speech, Article 19. There it is said in the following language: “Speech is the aspect of ‘A mother of children (Tehillim 113:9)’,” that is to say, just as a mother always goes with her children, even to impure places, and never forgets them, likewise speech always goes with a person, even to impure places, and reminds him always of G-d. That is, even if a person has sunken to an extremely low level, G-d forbid, nevertheless through speech one can always remind oneself of G-d. Which is to say, regardless of how low one’s place, if he will strengthen himself at least to say holy words of Torah and prayer and conversation with his Creator, or to speak with his rabbi or with a friend about fear of Heaven, through this he can remind himself of G-d eternally, even there in places very distant from G-d, which are the aspect of the impure places. No matter how far he has fallen. For speech does not allow one to forget G-d. Understand well the great power of speech. And this is a wonderful and awesome technique for one who wishes not to lose his life completely, G-d forbid.

New Song I composed B"H

Here's a new song I just composed B"H the words are from Blossoms of the Spring (Ebay Hanachal) page 57. It's up on our music site in my folder, Toronto69.

http://www.4shared.com/file/73548551/6958855/HowMuchLongerWillYouSleep57Blossoms.html

Part 2: LETTER of the MONTH - ס

So, what is the Tachlis of the letter Samech? It is the concept of a word that is the Gematria of the letter of Samech=60 - HALACHA! It is one of the main concepts emphasized especially in Breslov. The conclusion of Talmud Bavli tells us that one who learns Halachos every day is assured of a share of the Olam Haba.

When Saba was asked what body of Halacha one should study, since after all, you have the Rambam, Shulchan Aruch, Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, etc. , he said one should study Shulchan Aruch (don't remember the source, I saw this in the weekly Nanach Parsha sheet). So, there you have it, the crux of Halacha is the good ol' Shulchan Aruch. Now, the most crucial part of Shulchan Aruch as it relates to daily living is the first of the four parts is called Orach Chaim, on which there is the Mishna Berura. For those whose Mama Lashon is English, it's great to know that you have the entire Orach Chayim with Mishna Berurah translated in English by Feldheim Publishers. I can tell you for myself that despite being able to learn in Hebrew pretty well, this translation is a great eye opener - especially when it comes to Hilchos Shabbos, about which the Chofetz Chaim writes in his introduction to Hilchos Shabbos quoting the Ya'aros Devash that unless one learns all of Hilchos Shabbos on a regular basis and is very knowledgeble in its Halachos, he can always be doing something wrong in terms of Chilul Shabbos. So, in order to be a good Chosid, one has to learn the vitamins of Torah learning - what keeps us alive as Torah observant Jews. Just to let you know, there is an Inyan of learning two Halachos in the daytime, and two Halachos at night; but whatever schedule that works best for you that won't allow you to fall behind - that is what counts the most at the end. Also, it's best to review the Halacha or Halachos several times to remember it well - not just as Torah learning, but remembering exactly how to follow what the Torah says.

Now that Chanuka is coming up, for those who have yet to have a set daily Seder in Halacha, it's a great time to get started considering you have exactly 44 Halachos of Hilchos Chanuka in the Shulchan Aruch (there are 25 in the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch), so learning 2 Halachos per day if you are reading this post shortly after this is written will allow you to know all of Hilchos Chanuka just in time to do everything right.

For more details on the significance of Halacha as it pertains to the letter Samech, check my blogspot http://www.gematriot.blogspot.com/. There is also a daily Halacha blogspot that I just discovered last week http://www.halocho.blogspot.com/. Happy Halacha Learning!

NA NACH SIGD

SIGD SAMEACH! NA NACH!NA NACH SIGD

Part 1: LETTER of the MONTH - ס

Originally, this was going to be my second post with this title. But my previous post bringing out my point that every chapter of Likutei Moharan is called Torah was too good to pass up as another part of the post - it had to be used as the title of the blog post as well. But as for an explanation how the letter Samech, with a Gematria of 60, relates to learning Torah - especially the Oral Law - from Mishna to Halacha, you can check out my latest blog on my own blogspot
http://www.gematriot.blogspot.com/.

In my next blog, I will tell you the Tachlis of the blog that I just wrote on my own blogspot that deals with Gematriot, revealing the beauty of Torah. But first, there is a most significant connection of the letter Samech, the letter of this month of Kislev - as it relates to Saba. Yes, Samech is the first letter of Saba. But there is more - you will see this Gematria only on nanach.net - pertaining to Birkas Cohanim, and how it relates to Saba:

There are exactly 150 letters in the Parsha of Bircas Kohanim, the very first words of Torah (interestingly, just mentioned how each chapter of Likutei Moharan is called Torah) that we say each morning following the Berachos for learning Torah. On in incidental note - there are likewise exactly 150 chapters of Tehillim, and exactly 150 words of the Aishes Chayil recited every Shabbos night at Kiddush, which are the last 22 Pesukim of Mishlei and one of two places in the entire T'Nach which follows exactly in Alef Beis order in the course of 22 Pesukim. Anyways, the actual Bircas Cohanim text - 15 words - as recited by the Cohanim has exactly 60 letters.

How does this relate to Saba? Easy. You see, the 60 letters of the Bircas Cohanim within the 150 letters of the Parsha of Bircas Kohanim are in position numbers 63 thru 122. Saba is the Gematria of 63, and the Siman for the 122 Pesukim of Parshas Ki Savo - about which I wrote a most fascinating post relating to Rabbeinu & Sabba nearly two weeks ago - is the word La'avadav (122) - To His (Hashem's) servants, referring to the Jewish Nation. In the Petek, the root word of this Avoda - is written 3 times in the 51 words of the Petek (1/17 of the Petek)! It is the 122th and last Posuk of Parshas Ki Savo that is the 5682 Posuk of the Torah, and as we know, it was in the year 5682 when Saba discovered the Petek! (It is interesting to note that when Saba came to Rabbi Moshe Feinstein ZTVK"L for his Haskama on the Petek, Rabbi Feinstein asked Saba for a Beracha, upon which Saba blessed him with the words of Bircas Kohanim)

Another fascinating vort on Saba in relation to the letter Samech: In Parshas Bo, the 15th Parsha & the Parsha of Yetzias Mitzrayim - the 60th letter of the 60th Posuk of this Parsha that is called Bo - the last two letters of Saba - is the letter Samech! So, it's the letter Samech connecting with the letters Beis & Alef to form the word Saba! And mind you, this Samech is in the word HaPosach - where Moshe is telling Hashem's command to B'nei Yisrael to slaughter the Korban Pesach, and as we know Pesach & Nachman have the same Gematria (148). So, it's a Chazaka here - the Samech=60 as the 60th letter in the 60th Posuk (even if it wasn't Parshas Bo, it would still be an amazing thing)! But wait - later on in this Parsha when it mentions the traveling itinerary of the Jews leaving Egypt - it's the ONLY place in the ENTIRE T'nach where three Samechs are written in a row! This is bearing in mind that the Samech is one of the least mentioned letters in the Torah. Vayisu B'nei Yisrael M'Ramses Sukosa - The Jews traveled from Ramses to Sukkos (same name as the Chag in which Rabbeinu was Niftar in the middle of the seven days of it - connecting the three days before and after it, just like with Shabbos). So it is the letter Samech that is spelled as three letters consecutively in the names of the city that they left Golus Mitzrayim from, and the first city that the Jews traveled to on their way to Eretz Yisrael - truly amazing! (The letter Samech=60 is the 15th letter of the Alef Beis, as connected with the 15 words of Bircas Cohanim having 15 letters, the Jews left Golus Mitzrayim on 15 Nissan, and Sukkos begins on 15 Tishrei) It is also interesting to note that in some Chumashim, at the end of some Parshiyos, you will see three Samechs indicating that this is a shorter space in the Sefer Torah (in contrast to the end of other Parshiyos where you will see three Peys indicating a larger space in the Sefer Torah) - I just have to work on the connection of this last thing of the three Samechs with the three Samechs in Parshas Bo bridging the cities of in & out of Mitzrayim (any ideas?)

Now, here is the connection of Samech as it relates to Saba IN THIS YEAR. You see, the letter Samech when spelled out as the name for the letter Samech - Samech, Mem, Chof, - it has a Gematria of 120. Well, before we know it, it will be exactly 120 years since the birth of Saba on 20 Kislev 5649-5769! Yes, like Moshe Rabbeinu who lived exactly 120 years - and where is the last letter Samech of the Torah/Chumash? After mentioning the Histalkus of Moshe, it mentions Moshe giving Semicha - his transfer of leadership over to Yehoshua - Ki Somach Moshe Es Yadav Olov. The very last time the letter Samech is used in the Torah begins the word Somach - basically the same word as the name of the letter Samech! And while Saba, not an official Chasidishe Rebbe, did not officially appoint a next leader as he didn't want to consider himself one - everyone together were just friends - it's his obvious legacy that he gave to ALL OF US - to give us a piece of the pie usually reserved only for great Torah leaders - this Zechus of having leadership skills of bringing Yidden closer to the Emes - the ultimate Torah as expounded by the teachings of Breslov! It is this bridge of the letter Samech that will transport us from the exile of the Sitra Achara - beginning with a Samech - to the Sod (Secret) - also beginning with the letter Samech - of the Geula - Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman!

Each chapter is called TORAH!

Chodesh Tov everyone!

Just when I thought that I would only need to write a post pertaining to the letter "Noon" last month representing Cheshvan, as it relates to Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman, it is the letter Samech, the letter of the month of Kislev, that puts Breslov in the center of everything. After all, the Samech is the middle letter of Breslov.

As I mentioned in a previous post "770 in Breslov", I related the Bareich Aleinu blessing of Shemoneh Esrei to the letters of Breslov, including the letter Samech. Outside of Israel, Jews start praying for rain in this blessing on the 60th day of Tekufas Tishrei - which will begin next week on the night of December 4 - and Samech is the Gematria of 60.

It seems that sometimes things may be too obvious not to notice, but there seems to be a reason why sometimes I don't think of everything at once. Being that there are some Nanachs out there who presently are in the States, it won't hurt to bring another few vortlech on this Bareich Aleinu blessing that relates to praying for rain that are no doubt - showing Breslov to be the ultimate purpose of this Beracha.

As I mentioned previously the word V'Sein - whether followed by the words Beracha or Tal U'Matar L'Veracha - has the same Gematria as Likutei Moharan (456). Now, focusing on the following words that we say when praying for rain - Tal U'Matar - these two words have the same Gematria as Breslov (294)! Thus, it is the Likutei Moharan ("V'Sein") that is the "Bible" or magnum opus of Breslov ("Tal U'Matar")! I also mentioned in a past post that both Torahs 39=Tal & 227=Beracha of the first part of Likutei Moharan mention the concept of Eisev - herbage/vegetation/grass. Now, note the second Posuk of Parshas Ha'azinu - Ya'arof KaMATAR Likchi, Tizal KaTAL Imrasi, K'Seirim Alei Deshe, V'Chirvivim Alei EISEV - "May my teaching drop like the rain, may my utterance flow like the dew; like storm winds upon vegetation and like raindrops upon blades of grass" Maseches Ta'anis and various commentators on the Torah tell us that this verse refers to the teachings of the TORAH. Indeed, this verse mentions rain, dew & grass, all the concepts that we mentioned in connection with Likutei Moharan, and significantly, IF YOU REMEMBER NOTHING ELSE, each chapter of this Heilige Sefer is refered to as TORAH! This is just like a chapter of Tehillim or other parts of T'nach being called Perek or Kapitelle, a chapter of Mishna is likewise called Perek, and a chapter of Shulchan Aruch is called Siman. But the Likutei Moharan is different - every chapter is called TORAH - the ultimate Torah about which Rabbeinu said that Moshiach is going to say a Peirush to it! (Recalling my Chabad days when I learned Tanya, each chapter is called Perek, but never did I hear the chapters being called Torah).

Now, as far as Rabbeinu per se is concerned, Tal U'Matar & Breslov both have the same Gematria as Rabbeinu's Yiddishe Numen - Nachman Ben Feige (a well known Gematria pertaining to Breslov). But also, as in a previous post, I wrote that Tal corresponds to Rabbeinu's years in Olam Hazeh as he was Niftar in his 39th year, the same Gematria as Tal; hence the following word U'Matar, has the same Gematria as HaRan (255)!

Meshivas Nefesh #20

20.

Becoming distant from G-d is the beginning of drawing close. That is, when a person wants to draw close to G-d, then in most cases harsh judgments and suffering and numerous and immense obstacles come upon him, and it seems to him as if he is being pushed away. But all of this is for good, in order to draw him close, and one must strengthen oneself and be determined and steel oneself to stand in this test, and not be driven away, G-d forbid, by the suffering and obstacles and distancing, and not deceive oneself, saying that he is being rejected, G-d forbid. Rather he must know and believe that all that he is enduring is for his good, in order that he should overcome and draw closer, for the distancing is only for the sake of drawing him close (Likutey Moharan, Part I, 74).

Meshivas Nefesh #19

19.

Also depression is very harmful, and gives strength to the evil inclination, therefore, one must be very determined to cheer oneself with all the methods which are explained in their place, for the primary strengthening is through joy and delight, as in the verse: “The delight of the L-rd is your strength (Nechemiah, 8:10).” (Ibid)

Meshivas Nefesh #18

18.

One who is burdened by harsh judgments, G-d forbid, and is enduring some suffering, may
G-d have mercy, needs to make a particularly strong effort to be saved from the evil inclination, for at such times the evil inclination rises against one especially, for the primary root of the evil inclination is harsh judgments, may G-d have mercy (ibid).

The Truth About Thanksgiving

As history teaches us, the greatest conflicts and the bloodiest wars throughout time have been waged because of belief systems and boundaries. We can trace this from the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition through Hitler to the "ethnic cleansing" now going on around the world. This mentality does not tolerate differing political, social and religious beliefs, and it does not hesitate to sieze another's land and property if it suits a purpose.

It was the custom in European countries to mark the boundaries of land with fences ranging from palisades to low rock walls. Once word spread throughout Europe and Spain about this wonderful land called The Americas, which was wild, untamed and unclaimed, this new territory became a safe haven for outlaws, prisoners, exiles, and the radical element of politics, social structure and religious practices - the violent and the non-conformists.

Even though the first explorers and early settlers had been warned about the heathen savages found in the "New World", they found the First Peoples of this land curious about these strange people, and more than willing to teach them how to survive and live well in their new surroundings. The flow of people into this country was slow in the beginning and, even though there was the occasional hothead among the newcomers, life was generally a peaceful co-existence for almost 150 years.

However, as the trickle of settlers turned into a steady river, the atmosphere began to change. In 1614, a band of English explorers had landed in the vicinity of Massachusetts Bay. When they returned home, they took with them Native slaves they had captured, and left smallpox behind. By the time the Puritan pilgrims sailed the Mayflower into southern Massachusetts Bay, entire nations of New England Natives were already extinct, having been totally exterminated by smallpox.

The Puritans were religious radicals being driven into exile out of England. Since their story is well known, I will not repeat it here. They settled and built a colony which they called the "Plymouth Plantation", near the ruins of a former Native village of the Pawtuxet Nation. Only one Pawtuxet had survived, a man named Squanto, who had spent time as a slave to the English. Since he understood the language and customs of the Puritans, he taught them to use the corn growing wild from the abandoned fields of the village, taught them to fish, and about the foods, herbs and fruits of this land. Squanto also negotiated a peace treaty between the Puritans and the Wampanoag Nation, a very large Native nation which totally surrounded the new Plymouth Plantation. Because of Squanto's efforts, the Puritans enjoyed almost 15 years of peaceful harmony with the surrounding Natives, and they prospered.

At the end of their first year, the Puritans held a great feast following the harvest of their new farming efforts. The feast honored Squanto and their friends, the Wampanoags. The feast was followed by 3 days of "thanksgiving" celebrating their good fortune. This feast produced the image of the first Thanksgiving that we all grew up with as children. However, things were doomed to change.

Until approximately 1629, there were only about 300 Puritans living in widely scattered settlements around New England. As word leaked back to England about their peaceful and prosperous life, more Puritans arrived by the boatloads. As the numbers of Puritans grew, the question of ownership of the land became a major issue. The Puritans came from the belief of individual needs and prosperity, and had no concept of tribal living, or group sharing. It was clear that these heathen savages had no claim on the land because it had never been subdued, cultivated and farmed in the European manner, and there were no fences or other boundaries marked.

The land was clearly "public domain", and there for the taking. This attitude met with great resistance from the original Puritans who held their Native benefactors in high regard. These first Puritan settlers were summarily excommunicated and expelled from the Church.

With Bible passages in their hands to justify their every move, the Puritans began their march inland from the seaside communities. Joined by British settlers, they seized land, took the strong and young Natives as slaves to work the land, and killed the rest. When they reached the Connecticut Valley around 1633, they met a different type of force. The Pequot Nation, very large and very powerful, had never entered into the peace treaty negotiated by Squanto as had other New England Native nations. When 2 slave raiders were killed by resisting Natives, the Puritans demanded that the killers be turned over. The Pequot refused. What followed was the Pequot War, the bloodiest of the Native wars in the northeast.

An army of over 200 settlers was formed, joined by over 1,000 Narragansett warriors. Because of the lack of fighting experience, and the vast numbers of the fierce Pequot warriors, Commander John Mason elected not to stage an open battle. Instead, the Pequot were attacked, one village at a time, in the hours before dawn. Each village was set on fire with its sleeping Natives burned alive. Women and children over 14 were captured to be sold as slaves; other survivors were massacred. The Natives were sold into slavery in The West Indies, the Azures, Spain, Algiers and England; everywhere the Puritan merchants traded. The slave trade was so lucrative that boatloads of 500 at a time left the harbors of New England.

In 1641, the Dutch governor of Manhattan offered the first scalp bounty; a common practice in many European countries. This was broadened by the Puritans to include a bounty for Natives fit to be sold for slavery. The Dutch and Puritans joined forces to exterminate all Natives from New England, and village after village fell. Following an especially successful raid against the Pequot in what is now Stamford, Connecticut, the churches of Manhattan announced a "day of thanksgiving" to celebrate victory over the heathen savages. This was the 2nd Thanksgiving. During the feasting, the hacked off heads of Natives were kicked through the streets of Manhattan like soccer balls.

The killing took on a frenzy, with days of thanksgiving being held after each successful massacre. Even the friendly Wampanoag did not escape. Their chief was beheaded, and his head placed on a pole in Plymouth, Massachusetts -- where it remained for 24 years. Each town held thanksgiving days to celebrate their own victories over the Natives until it became clear that there needed to be an order to these special occasions. It was George Washington who finally brought a system and a schedule to thanksgiving when he declared one day to be celebrated across the nation as Thanksgiving Day.

It was Abraham Lincoln who decreed Thanksgiving Day to be a legal national holiday during the Civil War -- on the same day and at the same time he was ordering troops to march against the Sioux in Minnesota ..... (and subsequently ordered 38 Santee Sioux hung on Christmas Eve for leaving the reservation in search of food...the promised supplies having never materialized).

In our society, it is not uncommon for our modern celebrations to have arisen from black and evil beginnings. (by: Julia White)

Hashem really likes stories of the Nanach!

In this weeks portion Rashi quotes the famous dictum יפה שיחתן של עבדי אבות יותר מתורתן של בנים, that is that we find that the Tora elaborates much much more about the events that happened to the servants of our forefathers than actual divine commandments. The numerical value of עבדי אבות is 495, which is the numerical value of נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן and 4 for the quadrupled song.

Showing off Kabala, maybe a step in the right direction, but isn't good enough

Ner Yisrael Yeshiva of Toronto has put many Kabalistic works, such as the Holy Zohar, the Holy Writings of the Arizal, the Siddur of the Rishash, and more in bookshelves in it's main lobby. This is somewhat a fulfillment of the verse (beginning of Mishley – Proverbs) חכמות בחוץ תרונה ברחובות תתן קולה! It is also evidence that today it isn't sufficient to possess and study the Holy works of the Kabala, only Rabbainu Na Nach Nachmu Nachmun MayUman has the power to heal us and save us.

Trino (C) has donated another $10 for the spread of nanach.

Others should follow this example as well.

Sigd Sameach, Happy Temple Day, Na Nach

29th Cheshvan is the holiday of Sigd. Sigd is celebrated 50 days from Yom Kippur, like Shavuot is to Pesach. It has its roots in the days of Ezra and Nechemia and a chag which was instituted with the 2nd Temple rebuilding movement. This chag is all about Torah and the Beis HaMikdash, interesting also is that it is in Cheshvan which world Jewry has always reffered to as Mar Cheshvan, or Mr. Cheshvan, seriously though, as the bitter month since it is without chagim, and there are many mesorahs about Cheshvan being when Shlomo HaMelech finished the Bayis Rishon, however waited to inaugurate it till the following Tishrei, and that Cheshvan is the month of Bayis Shlishi.

We also know how much Na Nach is connected to the Beis Hamikdash construction, which Rambam tells us all is a greenlight in every generation. The Petek clearly says, Malei Vegadish Mikav Lekav, BUILD IT!

The holiday of Sigd has been preserved through the ages by the very unique Jewish community of the Beta Yisrael. As is written in Rabbi Eliyahu Avichails Sefer Shivtei Yisroel, and also sefer on the Beta Yisroel community "Ayelet Hashachar", and also in Rambam and Eldad HaDani, the Beta Yisroel community have a particular shoresh in Shevet Dan. Dan had left Eretz Yisroel during a civil war because they prefered to leave the land if it meant they did not have to shed their brothers' blood. This is a trememndous zechus and they are not actually counted among to the exiled tribes since they left by their own accord. It caught my eye that Dan is Dalet-Nun, 4 Nuns, Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman. Many great things are related to Dan ben Yaakov. His Kever is by Beit Shemesh in a Gan Leumi, and from him came many great Jewish heroes, Chushim ben Dan ben Yaakov, Tzelya who defeated the Wicked Bilaam and helped Moshe Rabbeinu and Klal Yisroel, Ohaliav ben Achisamach who worked in unity with Betzalel in the construction of the Mishkan, Shimshon HaGibor, Ira the mighty warrior with King David, and the future hero our Sages tell us of Sarya, who will help Melech HaMoshiach, may Hashem send our Righteous Moshiach and fulfill the complete Redemption speedily in our days, Na Nach.

As of this year, July, Sigd is an official State Holiday in Israel, like Yom Haatzmaut and Chanukah, and also many leaders in the Sephardic and Ashkenazic communities have embraced the new, yet old, and new, like Rebbe Nachmans path itself, Cheshvan Torah Beis Hamikdash Chag Sigd.

We've got Yom Haatzmaut celebrating Eretz Yisroel and Yom Yerushalayim and now Yom Har HaBayit : )

Jews will be celebrating all over the world, and the central Sigd celebrations and official ceremonies will be at Armon HaNetziv, overlooking Har HaBayit and kissing and blessing the stones and dust of Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh.
Check out these links for more info, Happy Holidays! Just say Na Nach, in keeping with the Sigd spirit and the Na Nach spirit both expressed and encompassed so beautifully in one pasuk,

second discussion

It seems out of all the contributers, only MordechiGefforyMAx feels that Saba is Rebbe Nachman incarnate or greater, I guess all the rest of us non-believers need to be weeded out.
My next opinion is about what might be a real machlocus, not like the question of the "ani..", which I feel is just an issue of right and wrong.
Were is the kibbutz on Rosh Hashana?
The Rebbe made it clear that he wanted all of his people to be by him on Rosh Hashana.
R' Nason worked his whole life to strengthen the kibbutz in Uman by the Rebbe's kever.
Saba said the words "Uman nigmar" on Rosh Hashana, and worked to bring Rabenu to Eretz Yisroel the whole next year.
When the kever of Rabenu did not move, Saba ended up going to Uman for the next two Rosh Hashana's before he passed away.
To the best of my knowledge, and that is after asking almost everybody invovled, Saba, after going to Uman, after trying a full year to move the Rebbe's kever, never again told anyone the kibbutz is in Israel, and whoever asked him were to go on Rosh Hashana, would be told adamantly to go to Uman.
To me there is no question, the kibbutz is in Uman.
The only argument to say the kibbutz is in Israel, is to say "we have to make the move, to getting Rabenu to Israel, by starting to make a kibbutz in Israel."
I can not agree with this for the simple fact that you are messing with Rabenu's main tikkun - the Rosh Hashana gathering.
It is go good to be cutting edge, but this is like stepping of that edge.
I think the growing tikkun of the world is directly a product of the kibbutz of every Rosh Hashana.
The spreading of the Rebbe's seforim with the help of the banner and song of Na Nach, is making the kibbutz grow and that is the point.
You can not push something even if you are right.

Meshivas Nefesh #17

17.

Also in the matter of drawing oneself close to G-d, there is a great evil inclination, wherein sometimes the excess of enthusiasm beyond the proper measure is from this evil inclination, in the aspect of “Lest they break through to ascend to the L-rd (Shmot 19:21).” One needs to ask for mercy to be saved also from this (ibid).

Meshivas Nefesh #16

16.

And there are those whose evil inclination has the aspect of a thin shell, and this evil inclination only challenges one who is on a somewhat high level. But this is still not the evil inclination of the True Tzaddikim, for their evil inclination is truly a holy angel (ibid).

Meshivas Nefesh #15

15.

There are several varieties of the evil inclination. For most of the world, their evil inclination is very lowly and materialistic, truly a spirit of foolishness. And one who has a bit of clear intellect, and reflects in his heart even a bit about the greatness of G-d, certainly for him this evil inclination is great foolishness and craziness, and even the test of sexual desire is foolishness in his eyes, and he does not need any efforts to counter it. However, he has another evil inclination which is much higher than this. But the evil inclination of most of the world is truly great nonsense for one who has intelligence alone (ibid).

Letter# 14: The Na Nach alternative

Alot of pessimism and big threats in the news...IF.. everybody believes in Na Nach,
none of this is relevant.

1 Rabbi Nachman comes home.
2 The "Palestinians" and other occupiers and would be occupiers DONATE the houses and
gardens they toiled for to the Jews living in Eretz Ha Kodesh.
3 The "Palestinians", "fanatically secular Israelis" et al, are welcomed with open arms anywhere
in the world they decide to settle.
4 The Jewish Nation sends generous gifts to their palestinian and other emissaries throughout
the now civilized world.

The 90%annihilation and romantic survival of the new world order of very holy and super tough tzaddikkim is not the victory G-d wants over his children. (even the most babaric reptiles have something better in mind for their baby dinosores- G-d is probably more merciful but certainly just).

In a NaNach brotherhood,
the deeply buried ennemy agents will be weeded out through very precise and targeted action by the most high himself.

This is all plain and simple, all we need to do to succeed is stick together!

Our very own Y.B.

Meshivas Nefesh #14

14.

If a person is aroused to repent, then when he wants to begin serving G-d and to travel to the Tzaddik, the evil inclination arises against him, each time to a greater degree. Therefore at each point, one needs a determination greater than before, and new strength to face the new evil inclination, which arises against one at every point. From this comes the phenomenon, wherein when one is inspired to travel to people of truth, one has a great desire for this, and afterwards when one begins the journey, one’s desire weakens, and sometimes by the time one reaches the tzaddik himself, one falls from one’s desire entirely.

All this emanates from the above-mentioned aspect, for immediately when one is aroused to travel to a true tzaddik, one kills the evil inclination one had at first, and afterwards when one wants to start travelling, a new evil inclination is created, which is stronger than the first one. For “Each one who is greater than his fellow, his evil inclination is also greater (Gemarrah Sukkah, 52-A).” Therefore, one who wants to draw close to G-d in truth needs new strength at every point, to counter the new evil inclination that renews itself upon him at every point (Likutey Moharan, Part I, Chapter 72).

love

I love Klal Yisroel, but hate flawed ideologies.
Discussion should only be on views, and not be taken personally.
I only try to stand up for my understanding of what Saba is, and stands for.
By the way when Saba said the US will be the poorest nation - I think he meant daas wise.
Dont look for the US to go bankrupt any time soon, they still can officially kick the borcsht out of any body else - if they get forced to pay their debts.

True Happiness of Breslov

During the younger years of Rebbe Yisroel Karduner there lived a very wealthy man in his city. Although this wealthy man was a known miser, Hashem made Rebbe Yisroel Karduner find favor in his eyes. The wealthy man once invited Rebbe Yisroel Karduner to his home. In middle of his visit Rebbe Yisroel turned the conversation around to discuss the final truth and mans ultimate purpose in this world. His words made a great impression and penetrated deep into the wealthy mans heart.

Many years passed and Rebbe Yisroel Karduner arrived to the yearly Rosh Hashana Kibutz (gathering) of
